The rock climb 'Götterhämmerung' UIAA 9+ (7c+) in Schlaraffenland, Frankenjura was first ascended by Bernhard Thum in 1987 and is a quiet classic graded.
After a pressy and bouldery start on small holds coming of a three finger pocket the route continues on medium size crimps with some long reachy moves.
It culminates in a long and reachy mantle-like move with a high foothold on small crips to grab a small pocket.
It requires standing on small footholds...
And pressing out of small crips...
After giving the route about 25-30 tries I finally managed to send the route in summer 2019. Up to that point it was surely one of my hardest climbs. Maybe not in grade but surely in effort.
I surely wouldn't have done the climb without the patience of my climbing partners:
In first place to be named Linus who belayed me doing redpoint ascent. But not less important:
Sofia, Jan, Mai, Layla and Csongor. And of course Michael Simon for the amazing high quality fotoshots.
